Golf is back once again in Canada for the 6th unofficial major. The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club is hosting the CP Women’s Open for the 3rd time, once in 2008 and once in 2017 with the winning scores of -11 and -13. The CP Women’s Open is being held for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic. Let's look at how Team TaylorMade is preparing for this week up north.
A few weeks after her major win at the Amundi Evian Championship Brooke Henderson is back on home soil and looking to win this tournament for the second time, first time was in 2018 when she finished with a 4 shot lead firing a -21 for a commanding win. Brooke's hometown of Smith Falls is only an hour away from Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, where she is also an honourary lifetime member. Hoping the experience around this course and the patriotic fans will help push her to finish Sunday in the top spot this week.
Sung Hyun Park is defending this week at The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club. Last time the tournament was held here (2017), Park took home the win with a final score of 13-under-par. She hopes those good memories will help her repeat her success from last time around. Sung Hyun Park has recently switched from the Stealth Plus to the Stealth driver for more spin and forgiveness off the tee.
Another player in this week's field with a Canadian tie is Lily He Lee. Lily lived in Vancouver for 8 years when she was growing up. Lily was a part of the CJGA golf tour and is very happy to be back in Canada for this week and is excited to play in front of the amazing Canadian fans.
