Team TaylorMade is ready to roll at Augusta for the year's first major...let's take a look at the biggest gear storylines heading into the first round.
First, here is the field of TaylorMade athletes competing:
Tiger put a Qi10 LS 10,5° driver and Qi10 Tour 15,0° 3-wood in play at Riviera Country Club and has the same top of bag set up at The Masters. Here's what Tiger had to say about the 3-wood:
"I feel very comfortable with the 3-wood," Tiger said. "I had to find the right shaft for it and decided to switch the shafts and go with what I have on my driver. I wanted to find something I could draw a little bit better and this one is definitely that."
Scottie is one of the most consistent players on TOUR in almost every way possible, including with his equipment. The World No. 1 and 2022 Masters champ rarely makes changes and rolls into Augusta with the same bag set up that won him two starts in a row at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS.
Scottie's latest gear change came before API, his Spider Tour X Putter, which was a huge factor in his historic two-start stretch and will be crucial in his chase for a second green jacket. Here's Scottie's bag set up for the week:
Collin Morikawa has made a putter change ahead of the first round switching into Spider Tour X with an L-neck hosel "T" sight line. Collin will pair his putter up with three different Milled Grind 4 wedges: 50° SB, 56° LB and 60° TW.
Rory McIlroy's bag is one gear head will drool over. His Qi10 9,0° driver, 15,0° 3-wood and 18,0° 5-wood lead the way at the top of the bag before going into a now blended set of prototype irons. After visiting The Kingdom leading up to The Masters, Rory added a P·Series prototype 4-iron to his Rors Proto iron set. Rory said in a press conference at last week's Valero Texas Open that it launches higher than his P·760 and feels closer to what he feels in his Rors Proto 5-iron.

Tommy Fleetwood has notoriously put a 9-wood in play in the past, including this year at the Dubai Desert Classic, and it returns to the bag at The Masters.
"You get a lot of courses where there's thick rough, firm greens and firm fairways and there's always a balance between having something that you can drive down the fairway but also something that you can hit into greens or out of the rough. I went higher up in loft in woods to find something that could do that. I don't like hitting hybrids and 7-wood numbers are too close to what my 5-wood produces so we found the 9-wood to fill that gap between my 5-wood at 250-yards and my 4-iron at 225-yards."
