Cette semaine, nous avons passé trois jours en Écosse avec l’équipe TaylorMade pour assister à leurs sessions d’entrainement et nous avons plein de choses à vous raconter. C’est parti.
It’s Links Golf! A big callout this week is that it’s going to be a different style of playing conditions for a few members of the squad. Wind conditions are a huge factor in how bags are setup . Looking at the top of the bag and also what wedges are in play. You might also see a few tweaks being made to putters to make them slightly heavier to get more feel on the slower greens.
On of the best parts of our role on Team TaylorMade is getting to watch Rory on the range and during his practice rounds. Staying close to Senior Tour Manager Adrian Rietveld we we’re able to get the inside scoop on what was being worked on.
“Rory turned up with a lot of clubs in the bag. Pourquoi ? To be able to get the correct setup this week but also to find out the right equipment for next week. He plays P760 3& 4 Iron, but turned up with a 2 Iron which we got onto the truck, changed the grip, checked the swing weight and bent the loft/ lie to match the rest of his bag. This went straight into his bag.
I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say, but we did a lot of work on the bottom of his bag. [We might need to stop there, all will be revealed soon!] Okay, we’ll all I’ll say is that it’s been an exciting project and it’s been in the works since the Travellers Championship and in my opinion it’s one of the best testing sessions in my career.”
Known to not switch equipment often, Scottie reached out to Adrian to test a new 3-wood and when we heard about this, we had to get the behind-the-scenes action!
‘I can’t see a reason or situation where it’s not the club choice for me’, confirmation from Tommy that Mini Driver is in the bag! If you’re following our social channels you’d that Tommy’s had a fresh set of grips on his P7TW’s, if you’ve not seen it, it’s a more detailed process than you might think!
A one iron! Yes, you heard that right. Lucas has a 2iron with about 15 degrees of loft. It’s a versatile club for Herby as it’s useful on firm surfaces and off the tee.
