Through three round at The Genesis Invitational, Jacob Bridgeman played nearly flawless golf, carding rounds of 66-64-64. He entered the final round with a six-shot lead at 19 under par, and would never look back on his way to his first PGA TOUR win.

Let's jump in for a closer look at the ingredients that went into Jacob's career-changing win.

For the week, Jacob's statistical performance was dominant:

    • 1st SG: TOTAL: 12.554
    • 1st SG: PUTTING: 7.438
    • 1st PUTTS PER GIR: 1.63
    • 1st SG: APPROACH TO GREEN: 5.704
    • T-1 GREENS IN REGULATION: 77.78% (56/72)

Let's dive in for a closer look at Jacob's career-changing win at The Genesis Invitational.

Ask any player, TOUR rep or instructor, and they will tell you the golf ball is arguably the single most important ingredient in a player's bag. It's the only piece of equipment players rely on for every single shot. And for Jacob Bridgeman, TP5x was the answer.

During the FedEx Cup playoffs in 2025, Jacob noticed he was having difficulty holding the firm greens at the PGA TOUR's toughest setups. During the offseason, he spent time working with TaylorMade TOUR reps and found that the TP5x allowed him to see the spin numbers and windows he was looking for, especially with his irons. The fact that he picked up 2-3 mph of ball speed off the tee didn't hurt either. Clearly, the recipe worked this week at The Genesis Invitational.

    SPIDER WINS AGAIN

Like a number of TOUR pros that employ a Spider, Jacob has traditionally been a guy that prefers the look and feel of a blade putter. He likes to feel the putter swing on an arc back and through during the stroke. With his Spider Tour short slant, he's able to realize the best of both worlds with high MOI and stability, and the blade familiarity he's accustomed to. For the week Jacob led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting (8.07).

Jacob likes to feel a nice arc and release with his putter and does a lot of practice with a blade to feel that. The Spider Tour short slant has less toe hang, but with the back CG it feels very similar to him as a blade. The mallet gives him more forgiveness and consistency with launch. At Pebble, he wanted to check launch and loft to make sure he had enough launch for the poa greens. He was launching it perfect with just over 2°. He likes the clean Spider Tour top with just a single dot that he sharpies on.

    FINDING FAST WITH QI4D FAIRWAYS

While there's no question that Jacob's Spider Tour putter was a game changer this week, he also made some changes to the top of his bag in the form of a new Qi4D HL 3-wood and Qi4D 7-wood.

With his Qi4D HL 3-wood (16.5°), he felt that he had more versatility into some of Riviera's long par-3s, and that it was easier to hit off the deck. The switch was also a strategic one considering Rivera's infamous short par-4 10th hole. The Qi4D HL 3-wood gave him the proper number off the tee and produced the shot shape he desired to navigate the often times devilish short par-4.

Jacob also felt that his previous 7-wood was spinning too much for the shots he was trying to hit. By dialing in the weight setup with his new Qi4D 7-wood, he was able to find the spin numbers he was looking for, something he felt he was missing in his previous gamer.

    PRECISION WITH P·7CB IRONS

For as long as he could remember, Jacob had been a blades guy, and who could blame him? Looking down at a thin top line and small profile is the stuff dreams are made of for the world's best.

But enter P·7CB for Jacob. Much like his Spider Tour putter, he was able to realize the best of both worlds as TaylorMade TOUR Rep, Nick Springer explains...

"Jacob was a blade guy his entire life until the end of 2024 when he switched into the P7CB. He liked the clean look from address and slightly higher launch with a cavity back iron. The biggest selling point though was the soft feel and better turf interaction than his blades."
