Finding your new fast takes more than power; it takes precision and Jayden Schaper made it his edge when he became the first member of Team TaylorMade to win with Qi4D, not once, but twice!
At the back-end of 2025 Jayden went through a meticulous fitting process designed to unlock his “New Fast.” Every adjustment from loft and lie tweaks to head selection was about finding the perfect balance of speed, spin, and confidence.
Jayden began his testing in the Qi4D 9° head, and the numbers spoke immediately. Compared to the Qi35 driver that he’d enjoyed a successful season with, ball speed jumped by 1.4 mph with the Qi4D. For a player who fights a high-right miss spinning over 3000 rpm, the Qi4D’s tighter spin window—2400 to 2800 rpm—was the game-changer. That consistency gave him the confidence to swing freely without fearing the big miss.
To truly understand where the next step came from, we have to look at the fitting of another Team TaylorMade athlete. Tommy Fleetwood’s testing set the benchmark for what the Qi4D LS head could deliver just a week prior. His process was long and intense, comparing both the Qi4D and Qi4D LS heads before ultimately settling on the Qi4D LS for multiple performance reasons. Tommy gained 2 mph in clubhead speed, leading his ball speed to jump from 170 to 172+, and saw spin rates drop by 200 RPM, averaging 2500 vs. 2700—a huge win for consistency. On-course testing in Abu Dhabi confirmed the gains, delivering 10–13 yards of extra distance.
After seeing Tommy’s success, Jayden wanted to push the limits further. Enter the Qi4D LS driver; the club he gamed during his maiden DP World Tour victory. The results?
- Average ball speed gain: +1.9 mph
- Spin differential: 334 rpm tighter than his Qi35 Driver
- Build specs: 0.25° stronger and 0.25° flatter than his Qi35 Driver
Those subtle changes delivered a much tighter spin dispersion—2150 to just under 2500 rpm across all shots—and unlocked the confidence to attack fairways aggressively.
“Once I saw the numbers and how it performed in competition, I knew this was the driver for me, it gave me freedom to swing aggressively without worrying about the big miss.”- Jayden Schaper
Jayden’s driver switch paid off in spectacular fashion; not once, but twice. Coming into the opening swing of the 2026 DP World Tour season, Jayden was already showing impressive form, and he turned that momentum into history. He first claimed his maiden DP World Tour title at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, delivering a wire-to-wire performance that showcased his confidence off the tee. Just one week later, Jayden doubled down at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, securing back-to-back victories and cementing his status as one of the Tour’s rising stars. Both wins came with Qi4D LS in the bag, proving that speed and precision aren’t just numbers—they’re results.
Across 12 rounds with Qi4D (compared to 58 rounds with Qi35), here’s what stood out:
- Strokes Gained Off the Tee: Up from 0.42 to 0.57 per round
- Distance: Gained 12 yards - 290.3 → 302.3
- Accuracy: Fairways hit jumped from 60.3% to 70.6%
- Miss Reduction: Left misses dropped from 16.0% to 10.1%, right misses from 23.6% to 19.3%
Jayden’s success is proof of what happens when relentless testing meets innovation. His speed gains reflect a simple truth: it’s time to find your new fast.
