Scottie Scheffler entered the final round of the Procore Championship three shots back of the lead. But in true Scottie style, his tactful precision iron play and deft touch with his Spider Tour X L-Neck led to a barrage of birdies on the critical holes, and eventually his sixth win of 2025. For the week, Scottie carded rounds of 70-68-64-67.
With the win, Scottie becomes just the fourth player since 1960 with back-to-back six-plus win seasons on the PGA TOUR. It's his 19th career victory in just 150 starts, and he's finished inside the top 25 in all 19 of his starts this season. Impressive stuff to say the least.
Let's dive a little deeper into the World No. 1's latest victory.
SCOTTIE'S SPIDER
The talking heads in the golf world continually tout Scottie's ball striking prowess, and with good reason. His ability to hit the ball pin-high and give himself looks for birdie on seemingly every hole are world-class. But it's his Spider Tour X L-Neck putter that ultimately converts those birdie looks into red numbers. Coming into the final round of the Procore Championship, Scottie ranked 4th in putting average.
Since switching to his Spider Tour X L-Neck at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational, Scottie has won 15 times. What once was considered an achilles heel has now turned into an offensive weapon.

SCOTTIE, TIGER AND P·7TW
Ok, we'd be remiss if we didn't talk about Scottie's approach play with his P·7TW irons.
Scheffler has had P·7TW irons in the bag since the 2021 American Express, while previously playing TaylorMade’s P·730 irons. After seeing the P·7TWs being played by many of his competitors, Scheffler expressed interest in late 2020 about playing the irons to be able to hit more types of shots with the capability the Tiger Woods inspired irons possess. After ample testing, he made the switch, and well, the world No. 1's results speak for themselves.
“Scottie is such a good iron player and he tested the Tiger irons by himself with his coach and then we made adjustments and he was good to go and he’s never looked back since. The sole geometry of the blade is very important in the delivery of the club. Tiger’s design is similar to what a lot of pros including Scottie played growing up. With the soles being a precision production milled grind, we have the ability to make the sole identical club after club after club because of the process we follow.”Adrian Rietveld, TaylorMade Senior Tour Manager
