By now, you’re probably familiar with all the tech and design features that set MG5 wedges apart from the competition. But you still might be asking yourself which of grind is best for you.
In the video above our very own short game guru, Dan Grieve, walks you through each of the five different grinds, demonstrates the type of player and conditions each one is for, and shows you how to execute an array of shots around the green so that you can take your short game to the next level.
- At 0:40, Dan discusses the SB grind's all-around versatility and demonstrates how to hit a standard chip and a shot off of especially tight lies.
- At 3:50, Dan explains the SC grind's characteristics and how to play shots with different face manipulations and trajectories from a variety of spots around the green.
- At 6:51, Dan delves into the SX grind's wide sole and forgiving characteristics. He shows you how to execute a basic chip shot and a short-sided pitch off a tight downhill lie.
- At 9:32, Dan explains how the HB grind can benefit players with steep angles of attack and that play in soft conditions. He shows you how to hit a variety of shots, including out of deep rough to a short-sided pin and out of the bunker.
- At 15:36, Dan explains how the LB grind can benefit golfers with shallow swings and those that play off tight, firm conditions. Here again, Dan shows you how to execute one of the most difficult short game shots, a short-sided pitch off a severe downslope and a tight lie.
