Scottie Scheffler entered the final round of the BMW Championship four shots behind the leader. His final round of three-under, 67, was enough to cap off the win with a total of 15-under by two shots.
The win is Scheffler's fifth of the 2025 season and the 18th of his career. It also marks his 14th victory worldwide since switching to his Spider Tour X putter, including a gold medal, since the start of 2024.
Let's dive deeper into the World No. 1's latest win.

SCOTTIE KEEPS STRIKING WITH IRONS THAT ARE HOT
A full examination of Scottie's win wouldn't be complete without acknowledging his ball striking prowess with his P·7TW irons. But, before we get to it, check out his 2025 ball striking stats.
- Ist in SG: Approach to Green: (1.292)
- 4th in Proximity: (34'2")
- 10th in Approach Shots > 200 Yards: (45'4")
- 12th in GIR: (70.59%)
- 3rd in Approaches > 100 Yards: (30'7")
Scottie's precision iron play speaks for itself - if he's in the fairway, no pin safe. The story of how he decided to put P·7TW irons in his arsenal dates back all the way to 2020. He was playing P·730 irons during the final of the 2020 Masters alongside Tiger Woods - the ball striking GOAT. Inspired by Woods' iron play, he wanted to try P·7TW irons for himself.
Back home in Dallas, Scottie went to work with P·7TW irons which are a little wider from heel to toe, but still maintain the clean, thin top line that says FLUSH at address. Suffice it to say, testing went well. . . The switch was made.
World No. 1's success with these irons speaks for itself. A couple of green jackets, the Wanamaker trohpy, the Claret Jug, a gold medal. Enough said. Maybe Scottie owes Tiger a "thanks"?
“What I noticed when I hit them at home was, I was able to hit different windows. So when I flighted it down, I could pitch it lower than I could the P·730. . . When I wanted to hit it up, I could hit it higher and I saw more variability in the shots and then the distance control was basically the exact same. I saw the benefits of being able to flight it down and keep it flatter and not have that overspin with a little bit more variety.”Scottie Scheffler
